Well, I finished the season with a 200 average. Same as last year. No improvement.
And I think I'm done with Bowlspace. Most the blog posts are just SPAM and the administrators are either unwilling or unable to do anything about it.
I'm tired of flagging all the inappropriate posts.
Good bye bowlers.

A rough night of bowling. 236, 183, and 160. A paltry 579 series. I started out good, but I was leaving a lot of 10 pins. So I started making adjustments and wasted the 2nd and 3rd game trying to find another spot on the lane that worked. I should have just stayed where I started and instead tried to make changes in the way I release the ball. Oh well.

Tonight I had 194, 211, and 220. A 625 series.

I bowled in a scratch tournament this morning. I bowled 255, 207, 232, and 193. An 887 series. That's a good series for me, but it was not good enough to cash. A 997 series was needed just to come in 6th place and win some cash. Oh well. Time to go stuff myself. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Tonight I bowled 227, 178, and 203. 608 series. That middle game was rough. The lanes where not hooking as much by the second game. The only adjustment I made the third game was to slow the ball down to give it more time to hook.

Over the first 3 weeks, I established a 195 average. Week by week it has been creeping up to 199. Tonight I it went up to 200 because I had a 644 series.
This is just what I did last year. I started in the 190's and worked my way up to 201 by the end of the year.
Last year my goal was 200. This year I've set a higher goal. I want my average to be 205 by the end of the season.

First week back. 598 series. Just two pins short of the goal that I have when I walk into the alley each week.
The lanes were just re-conditioned too. Not much hook. Plus slippery approaches.
I was playing outside by the first arrow tonight. I figured the fresh lanes have not been beaten up yet so I moved out to about the sixth board. In a few weeks I'll have to move back to bowling between the second and third arrow.

I finished the league with a 670 series and we beat the first half champs.
I really didn't expect to come in first place. It was quite a shock. We were not even trying to win until two weeks ago. When I realized that we had a chance to win, we changed our line-up and put me in the anchor positon. Up until then, we had our low man in the anchor position because, like I said, we were really not trying. We were just having fun.
I'll find out at the banquet what my average was for the season. I think it will be 201. An average I'm happy about. I did what I wanted to do. I wanted to prove that I could come back to bowling after taking ten years off and finish a sanctioned league with a 200 or better average. :-)

I bowled a 201, 212, and and 210 for a 623 series. And we came in first place for the second half. We took all seven points from the second place team. Next week we bowl the first half champs.
To be honest, we didn't bowl that great. We were all just at or a little above our averages. The other team basically gave it to us. They all bowled way below their averages.
They were spotting us and we were beating them without the spot. I think we won that last game by over 100.
They looked so demoralized during the last game that I almost felt sorry for them.

After missing my average three weeks in a row, I bowled a 613 tonight.
My average is down to 200 now.
